Guide for suitcase sellers
How to sell from a suitcase at a card show with your phone
Walking the floor with a suitcase means opening it, digging for the card a buyer asked about, and doing price math on the spot. Here's how to let your phone do the browsing and the bookkeeping instead.
The night before: get your cards ready
- Add the cards you're bringing. Snap a photo and Magic Scan fills in the player, year, brand, set, and number. For PSA slabs, scan the barcode and the grade comes from PSA.
- Mark them For Sale with an asking price. Show Mode only shows cards marked For Sale, so this is how you choose what buyers see.
- Take front and back photos. Buyers will want to see the back and the corners, and you won't need to pull the card out to show them.
- Open Show Mode once at home. Swipe through and check every card and price looks right. It works offline, so there's nothing to load at the venue.
At the show: hand over the phone
- Open Show Mode and pass your phone across. Buyers swipe through your For Sale cards on a black, full-screen display with large prices.
- Let them look closely. Tap to flip a card front to back, and pinch to zoom on corners and surfaces.
- Pull only the card they want. Your suitcase stays closed until there's a sale.
- Mark it sold right there (Pro). With Pro, tap Sold in Show Mode and record the sale price, date, venue, and buyer name before the next buyer walks up. Selling a stack? Batch select cards in Show Mode and record one group sale. On the free plan, Show Mode has no Sold button: open the card from your collection after the buyer leaves and mark it sold there.
Bringing an iPad? Hold it in landscape and Show Mode splits the screen: the card on the left, the details on the right.
After the show: see how you did
Every sale you marked is already in your collection with its price, so FTH works out your profit or loss on each card from what you paid, grading fees, and shipping. With Pro, sales reports for any date range export to CSV or PDF.
What's free and what's Pro
The free plan shows up to 25 cards in Show Mode, enough to try it at your next show, and you can mark any card sold from its card page. Pro gives you full Show Mode, with Mark as Sold and batch sale marking right in Show Mode.
